The 4-stroke starts like a 1972 Artic Cat discovered after 20 years of storage on an abandoned farm site. HATE THIS POLE SAW! It was poorly assembled- constant issues with the driveline. I have stihl that is a four stroke pole saw I would like to sell and get a husqky. Is the Husq a little cheaper and how much more reach does it have? I seem to have less problems with my poulan Pro. We have a couple Stihls and my next one will not be a stihl, Fuel line colapses, oil passage has crack on more than one saw, Have one with a cracked chain brake handle and the other one doesn't work right. Wish they'd come out with more attachments! I have one with the string-head, the brush-head, and the pole-saw with one extension, and have often used all three attachments in the course of one day. I am sure Husky's are good, just not a dealer close to me. I own other Stihl products and have good dealer support, so I did not look at other brands. I am amazed at the power of it and the pole saw attachment cuts limbs I never would have imagined to try like butter. On big saws.I have a Husqvarna 455 to oiler went out after about a year. Doesn't seem like I can go wrong either way. Have a dealer 4 miles from me, but also have stihls dealers within 15 miles. it always starts good and idles without dying. there is tiller, hedge trimmer, edger and maybe more. i have the km110r pole saw and the powersweep. If you get a stihl kombi powerhead, you can all sorts of attachments also. I also depends where your nearest dealer is too. My neighbor has 3 of them and he loves his too. I think that if I were to purchase another, I would put some emphasis on weight, but I would buy the Stihl again if it weighted in around the same as others. Loads of power! I run it as short as possible because it does get heavy. I had a Stihl before before that, it also was good. I have a Husqvarna, has run perfectly for the past 2 years. I wouldn't be w/o a pole saw for triming around fields. If I needed a new one I would check other brands, but might still end up with an Echo. The gears don't seem to be the best quality steel and I can't find a high quality replacement for the Echo gears. Down side is the gears in the head go out every year and cost about $50 to replace and the chain oiler is not so good. I've cut limbs almost as big around as the blade, appx 12", but most cuts are much smaller. I've got the biggest one they make, about 5yrs old, and it is very usefull, has plenty of power and isn't too heavy. HusqvarnaĮcho is ok but I've never used another brand so I can't compair. I felt it was time to pay more attention and not take so many risks on a ladder or climbing trees with spikes and safety belt like I used to do. One man show here and after seeing what a fall off a step ladder from a very short height did to my Mom's leg last November. My main reasoning was for the additional length it offered.īeen wanting one for a while to keep trimmed along woods. I've used it quite a few times so far and like it very much seems to have plenty of power and good reach.
